View down the aisle between two rows of silver-grey server cabinets in a brightly lit data centre room. The cabinet doors are open, revealing horizontally mounted rack servers: perforated panels, rows of drive bays, bundled blue patch cables and small green status lights. On the right, a technician in a light grey polo shirt and dark work trousers stands in profile in front of a cabinet, reaching for an installed server. The aisle runs across a light-coloured tiled floor with two rows of perforated ventilation tiles towards a plain mid-grey wall at the end; there are two elongated lighting panels in the ceiling.

From question to machine

Three decisions lie between the first question and the running system. The first is the most important, because it determines the other two.

A single open 1U server from above on a dark workbench mat: on the left, the closed covers of two drive sleds, next to them a row of upright fans with wire grilles, in the middle the heatsink on a copper base with four spring-loaded screws, above and below it four memory modules each with flat retaining clips, on the right a power supply unit with a plugged-in IEC cable, two M.2 modules and a grey network cable.

First the cut, then the machine

A virtual server shares the cores of a host. A dedicated server shares nothing: its own CPU, its own memory controller, its own drives, its own port. The difference is rarely noticeable in computing power, but rather in its fluctuation.

For test environments, frontends and everything that grows horizontally, the shared line is enough — 14 plans from €5.99$6.95 net, deployment on average 35 seconds, guaranteed under 60 seconds. As soon as latency must be constant or a database needs the memory bus for itself, the bare metal begins.

Differentiation of the lines

Four open servers side by side from above on a dark workbench mat, showing the differences between the platforms: a short 1U server with one heatsink, few memory slots and a third of empty sheet metal; a 1U server with two power supply modules and populated memory banks on both sides; a 2U server with two heatsinks on copper bases, dense rows of memory and a fan wall; and a 4U storage chassis with upright hard drives in sleds, one of which is lifted out.

Then the series, not the size

The four series are not tiers of the same machine. They differ in the platform: memory channels, PCIe lanes — the data paths to drives and network cards —, socket count, drive type and instruction set.

CORE is the entry level, FORGE the production class. TITAN reaches up to 384 cores per node, VAULT up to 16 drive bays. Which series fits is decided by the type of load — not the budget.

The series in detail

The rear of an installed server, exactly head-on between the black rack rails: on the left, two power supply modules with perforated ventilation grilles, bow handles, a green status light and one plugged-in power cable each; in the middle, the connection panel behind a sheet metal cover with USB, video and network ports, into which a blue and a grey cable are plugged; on the right, a network card with a second grey cable. Above it is a cable management arm into which all cables run, below it a blanking panel.

Order, take over, operate

The configurator guides you through model, location, storage, network, operating system and operations in six steps. The pricing breakdown shows net, VAT and the first invoice before you confirm anything.

Access data and IPMI access — remote maintenance of the machine, independent of the operating system — will then arrive via ticket: typically 90 minutes for in-stock items, up to 24 hours when built to order. There is no minimum term. With a monthly term, the model's one-off setup fee applies; with a term of 12 or 24 months, it is waived, and the monthly amount decreases by 8% and 14% respectively. You choose the term in the configurator.

Configure server

Each series solves a different problem

We don't build variations of the same machine in four sizes. The series differ in their platform: memory channels, PCIe lanes, socket count and drive type. Which one suits you is determined by the type of workload — not the budget.

CORE

Dedicated hardware at an entry-level price

The entry into dedicated hardware — single-core clock up to 5.7 GHz, without shared neighbours.

Your own CPU, your own memory, your own drives — without shared neighbours and without steal time. From the eight-core entry with Zen 5 for €65.54$76.03 to the X3D class with 128 MB 3D V-Cache for €259.00$300.44; the series sells clock speed and latency, not core count.

Not intended for storage density or dual-socket workloads. That is what VAULT and TITAN are for.

Typical workloads

For services whose response time depends on the single core.

  • Application serversPHP-FPM, Node or Java behind a reverse proxy. The 99th percentile response time remains constant because no external VM is computing on the same core.CORE-R7
  • Real-time APIsTelemetry, matchmaking or payment endpoints where the 99.9th percentile determines quality, not the average.CORE-R9
  • Game serversTick rates of 64 to 128 Hz need stable single-core performance. The boost clock is maintained even under continuous load because the cooling is designed for server operations.CORE-X3D

TITAN

Core density

One chassis instead of half a rack — for Private Clouds, HPC and container hyperscale.

EPYC 9005 (Turin) and Xeon 6 with 48 to 384 cores, one or two sockets, registered ECC ex works. The models with 5 Gbit/s base connection can be expanded to up to 3 TB RAM and 25 Gbit/s. For Private Clouds, HPC clusters and everything else that would otherwise need half a rack.

Oversized for single services. Only makes sense from several dozen concurrent workloads.

Typical workloads

For many concurrent workloads on one node.

  • HPCMPI jobs across multiple nodes with up to 25 Gbit/s connectivity. Scaling is determined by the NUMA binding of the processes — whether a process runs on the socket whose memory it uses — not the pure core count.TITAN-96 · TITAN-256 · TITAN-768

VAULT

Storage density

Capacity per euro, without the compromises of an all-rounder — CMR drives, from VAULT-176 with NVMe cache.

From 56 to 308 TB raw capacity per server, consistently on ECC memory, from 176 TB with NVMe cache, unlimited traffic. Built as a backup target, Ceph node or media archive — not as a compromised all-rounder.

No substitute for latency-critical databases. That is what the NVMe configurations of FORGE are intended for.

Typical workloads

What is included with every server

The following services are included in every Bare Metal plan and cannot be deselected. They do not appear as an item on the invoice or as a tick in the configurator.

Everything beyond that — advanced DDoS filtering, managed backup, named contacts — is visibly priced in the configurator.

  1. 01

    Basic DDoS protection

Volumetric filtering up to 1.2 Tbit/s. Included in every plan.

Filtering takes place in the backbone, the core network, not just at the server port. Detection is based on traffic profiles per destination address; if exceeded, traffic runs through the scrubbing layer — a filter stage that sorts out the attack portion — while legitimate traffic continues. There is no null routing of your IP address as a first measure, i.e. no disabling of the address in the network — which is where many providers stop.

  2. 02

    vRack 1 Gbit/s

Isolated Layer 2 network across all locations.

A second, private port per server. Database replication, cluster heartbeat and backups run over it without burdening your included volume and without a public IP address. The network spans across locations; a server in Frankfurt am Main and one in Helsinki are in the same Layer 2 segment — just as if they were connected to the same switch. Without private network: CORE-R7.

  3. 03

    IPMI and KVM access

Full out-of-band access, i.e. access bypassing the operating system, via a dedicated management interface: console before the bootloader, mounting an ISO image over the network, powering on and off, reading hardware sensors. Access is via a secured jump host and is not publicly accessible. This allows you to reinstall an operating system even if you have locked yourself out of SSH.

  4. 04

    Support Basic

Ticket support, initial response for critical incidents in 8 hours, Mon–Fri 08:00–18:00. Included in the price.

Tickets are answered by the same team that manages the racks — there is no first line that only sends text modules. Hardware faults are processed without further questions; for configuration questions, you receive an assessment, not a redirect to the documentation.

  5. 05

    Basic monitoring

Ping, port check and hardware sensors. Included.

We monitor the hardware side: temperatures, fan speeds, power supply status, corrected memory errors and the SMART values of all drives, i.e. their self-diagnostics. Anomalies trigger a ticket with us before they lead to a failure for you.

  6. 06

    No minimum term

All 17 bare metal configurations can be cancelled monthly. Plus 1 × IPv4 + /64 IPv6 out of the box and unlimited traffic. The setup fee of €65.54$76.03 to €2,299.99$2,667.99 per server applies once for a monthly term and is waived for 12 or 24 months. Fixed-term contracts also reduce the monthly price, but are not a requirement for ordering.

Hardware principles

Dedicated hardware is a promise about physical things: memory modules, power supplies, drives, spare parts and the time that passes between diagnosis and resolution. The following points apply to all Bare Metal systems; where the equipment differs per model, we specify which models are meant.

01

Error correction, three kinds named precisely

All 17 configurations run error-correcting memory, in three types: 7 with registered modules (RDIMM) on server platforms, 2 with unbuffered ECC on desktop platforms and 8 with on-die ECC: CORE-R7, CORE-R9, CORE-32, CORE-X3D, FORGE-12, FORGE-16, FORGE-24 and FORGE-32. With registered and unbuffered ECC, a single-bit error is corrected and reported to the system; a multi-bit error leads to a controlled abort instead of silent data corruption.

On-die ECC corrects single-bit errors in the memory chip itself. It does not report them to the operating system and does not secure the path between the module and the processor — if you need to count corrected errors, choose a configuration with unbuffered or registered ECC. Where errors are reported, we log them per module and plan the replacement before the correctable error becomes an uncorrectable one. We do not install memory without any error correction in this product line.

02

Power supplies and feeds

4 models have two power supplies on separate circuits with their own UPS and their own fuse protection: TITAN-128, TITAN-192, TITAN-256 and TITAN-768. A single power supply carries the full load there; the failure of a feed is a ticket, not an outage, and the power supply is hot-swapped.

The remaining models have one power supply and are therefore connected to one circuit. We announce maintenance on this path to the affected accounts individually. The most efficient location in the cluster operates with a PUE of 1.08 — the PUE compares the total power consumption of the data centre to the proportion that actually reaches the servers themselves.

Spare parts are on site

Spare parts for the platforms installed there are stocked at every location: power supplies, memory modules, drives, fans, network cards and complete motherboards. No spare part is shipped between locations if it is available on site.

Replacements are made exclusively with the same revision. Firmware and BIOS versions are fixed per series so that the behaviour of a system does not change after a replacement. We keep spare parts in stock beyond the entire term of a series — even when the model can no longer be ordered.

04

What “replacement time” means to us

Diagnosis first runs via the management interface: sensor values, event log, memory error counters. Only when it is clear which component is affected does someone go to the rack. This shortens the time in the data centre and avoids speculative replacements.

We guarantee 4 hours after completed diagnosis, around the clock, even on weekends. For components in stock, the usual process is significantly faster. We only publish a reliable median figure if it comes from a specified period with a stated number of cases. If it takes longer in exceptional cases, we provide an equivalent system and support you with the switchover.

05What happens in the event of a drive failure

Process identical for NVMe and HDD · no separate cost item

  1. 01

    Detection

Reallocation counts, uncorrectable read errors and temperature trends feed into our monitoring. The threshold is deliberately set below the point of failure — we replace most drives while they are still working.

  2. 02

    Notification

You receive a ticket with the serial number, slot position and a proposed time window. If a drive has already failed, we skip the consultation and replace it immediately.

  3. 03

    Replacement

The replacement is a planned intervention with a short interruption: the server is shut down for this — in the agreed time window or, if a drive has already failed, immediately. We do not guarantee hot-swapping across the board.

  4. 04

    Recovery

You start the cluster rebuild yourself, or we can do it upon request. How long this takes depends on the drive size — for 22 TB drives, it takes about a day and a half.

  5. 05

    Destruction

The removed drive is neither repaired nor reused. It is physically destroyed; a certificate is available on request. It is never read out at any point.

The front of a black 2U server in the rack, taken head-on: on the left on the matte panel, a brushed aluminium badge engraved with ENTRONYX CLOUD and a screw in each corner, below it a round power button and a row of small status lights, three of them green; on the right, nine identical drive sleds with plastic latches, hexagonal perforation and one green status light each. Above and below are the perforated metal fronts of the neighbouring servers, to the left and right the black rack rails.

What distinguishes this section from a shared instance

Six points that can be recalculated. Where a value comes from the catalogue, it is stated below the sentence — we have omitted details without numbers.

  • No shared clock

On dedicated hardware, there is no hypervisor between you and the CPU — no layer that divides a machine among multiple guests. The column that counts stolen CPU time on shared instances has no recipient here.

Three situations, three decisions

Three constellations that we encounter regularly. Without company names, without quotes: what is transferable is the decision — and the scale on which it depends.

  • Media archive

    An inventory that only grows

    Initial situation

The moving image archive was stored entirely on Object Storage. Capacity was not the problem, the retrievals were: every recovery of an older production cost retrieval fees and waiting time.

    Decision

Two VAULT nodes as a workspace, preceded by an NVMe tier for the current year. The Object Storage remains as a secondary copy — it is now a backup and no longer the place where work is done.

    Result

    16

Drive bays in the largest VAULT model

How it's built — An inventory that only grows

  • Software company

Build times that no longer fluctuated

    Initial situation

The compilation runs were executed on shared instances. Their duration fluctuated with the time of day, without the cause being found in the own codebase.

    Decision

A TITAN node with two sockets instead of a growing number of small instances. The runners run as containers on it; the remaining variance has since been in the code.

    Result

    384

Cores per node in the highest TITAN tier

How it's built — Build times that no longer fluctuated

  • E-commerce

Virtual frontends, database on bare metal

    Initial situation

The load follows the calendar: a few weeks a year account for the majority of orders, the rest of the year a significant part of the capacity stands still.

    Decision

The web tier is hosted on VPS plans and is scaled up for the season, the database on a FORGE node that remains the same all year round. Both sides are connected to the same private network and do not consume the included traffic volume.

    Result

Purchase and operations

What needs to be clarified before ordering — and what applies afterwards.

VPS or dedicated server?

A VPS shares the cores of a host. This is not a problem as long as the load fluctuates and short delays go unnoticed: frontends, test environments, jump servers, small services.

A dedicated server is worthwhile as soon as latency needs to be constant, a database needs the memory bus to itself, or an application's licence terms are tied to physical cores. From around four permanently fully loaded vCPUs, i.e. virtual processor cores, the cost is comparable, but the performance is not.

A VPS is billed hourly with a cap on the monthly amount, a dedicated server monthly. Both lines are on the same private network; if you start with a VPS, you can later migrate to your own hardware without changing your contract. CORE-R7 has no private network.

Ready-made server or configurator?

The ready-made servers on the homepage are models from this catalogue in their basic configuration. "Configure" opens the configurator with the model already selected; only the location is left open, because its regional factor changes the amount.

You need the configurator as soon as anything deviates from the basic configuration: memory, additional drives, RAID level, uplink, additional IPv4 addresses, operating system, term or quantity. All 17 models are stored there, and the price breakdown shows net, VAT and the first invoice before you confirm.

How long does it take until handover?

For a dedicated server: typically 90 minutes for in-stock items, up to 24 hours when built to order. Access data and IPMI access are provided via ticket, without a callback and without an appointment.

A VPS is ready: on average 35 seconds, guaranteed under 60 seconds. How much stock a dedicated model has in the location cluster is shown in the model matrix under the model name.

Is there a setup fee or minimum term?

There is no minimum term: without selecting a term, the contract runs for one month and renews for another month at a time. With a monthly term, a one-off setup fee applies, depending on the model of the 17 Bare Metal configurations, from €65.54 to €2,299.99 net per server. It is listed in the price list, in the configurator summary and on the first invoice.

With a term of twelve or 24 months, the setup fee is waived, and the monthly amount decreases by 8% and 14% respectively. The term is an option in the configurator, not a prerequisite for the order.

How do I cancel?

You cancel in the customer account under "Services" on the respective server; this satisfies the text form requirement according to section 11 of the Terms and Conditions. The cancellation is scheduled for the end of the term, the server continues to run until then, and it can be withdrawn until then.

For a one-month term, a notice period of one day to the end of the term applies. Contracts with a 12 or 24-month term can be cancelled with a notice period of 30 calendar days to the end of the term, otherwise they are extended by twelve months. A VPS is billed hourly and can be deleted at any time; billing ends upon deletion.

What is included at no extra cost?

Basic DDoS protection in the backbone, full IPMI and KVM access, basic hardware monitoring and standard support are included with every server, as is a private vRack port. CORE-R7 has no private network. Plus 1 × IPv4 + /64 IPv6 ex works.

Traffic is unlimited for all models in the included connection: outgoing traffic is neither counted nor billed in arrears there. An exception is the optional 10 Gbit/s connection for CORE-X3D, VAULT-176 and VAULT-308: it includes 20 TB of outbound traffic per month, every additional TB costs €1.00 net. What else is included is stated in the basic configuration further up on this page.

Does the same server cost the same at every location?

No. The basic amount stated in the catalogue applies to Frankfurt am Main. Each of the 5 locations carries a stored region factor that reflects local electricity, space and connection costs; none is currently above the basic amount.

The configurator calculates the factor as soon as you have selected the location. The entry price per series and location is shown in the table below the model matrix, each model per location on its series page.

What availability is guaranteed?

Dedicated servers and VPS are in class C with 99.90% per calendar month — this corresponds to 43 min 12 s of permitted downtime for 30 days. It is measured at the server's uplink interface, not at your application.

If the commitment is not met, there is a tiered service credit. The exclusion list and the tiers are fully detailed in the SLA.

What happens if a drive fails?

Reallocation counts, read errors and temperature trends feed into our monitoring. The threshold is below the point of failure, which is why we replace most drives while they are still working.

The replacement is a planned intervention with a short interruption, for which the server is shut down; we do not guarantee a hot swap across the board. The removed drive is physically destroyed and is never read out at any time.

Can I put servers at multiple locations into a private network?

Yes. The vRack is an isolated Layer 2 network across all locations — a separate network segment below the IP level, as if all servers were connected to the same switch. A server in Frankfurt am Main and one in Helsinki are in the same segment, without a public IP address.

Replication, cluster heartbeat and backups run over it and do not consume your included volume. Depending on the model, 1 to 50 Gbit/s are included; individual models can be expanded for an additional charge. The catalogue does not list more than 50 Gbit/s. CORE-R7 has no private network.

Can I switch from a VPS to a dedicated server later?

Yes, and usually without downtime: both lines are connected to the same private network, the data migrates over it. 14 VPS plans and the dedicated series are billed via the same account.

You operate the new server in parallel, switch over and delete the VPS afterwards — it is billed hourly, billing ends with the deletion. A contract change is not necessary for this.
