Each of the fourteen processes asks the same two types of questions. First, which design it should be. Then, how big. The amount is shown next to it from the first answer and changes with every click.
At the end of every route is the cart, not a contact form. The minimum term is one month; monthly contracts can be cancelled with one day's notice to the end of the term, contracts for 12 or 24 months with 30 calendar days (Section 11 Terms and Conditions). Resources billed by the hour can be deleted at any time without notice.

The price is calculated in a fixed order
Net price times location factor — the price factor of the selected data centre —, then the term discount (8% for twelve months, 14% for twenty-four), finally 19% VAT on the already discounted amount. One-off setup fees are not included in the discount. Net and gross are shown side by side throughout the entire process.
Your progress survives a reload
Each configurator saves its intermediate state in the browser session, with a separate key per process. Reloading therefore does not cost any input. After the session ends, the state is gone — a half-finished configuration is a work in progress, not a cart.
A deep link leads into the process
A deep link is an address with pre-filled values. Addresses like /konfigurator/vps?flavor=nx2&standort=fra1&schritt=1 set the plan, location and step in advance; this way, product pages and quotes point directly to a preselection. When clicking further, the address does not update. If you want to share a complete state, add it to the cart.
The cart holds multiple configurations
Items from different configurators stand side by side — a dedicated server, two VPS and a storage package make up one order. The cart survives the end of the session and synchronises between open tabs. Ordering is done via the checkout process; the total there is calculated using the same function as each individual card.
Each step checks itself
What an option does not support — too little memory for an image, a location without this series —, remains visible and disabled, with the reason next to it. No configurator can be put into a state that cannot be ordered.
