How far back a recovery goes

Before ordering, a number says more than any promise: how much data is missing in the worst case. At ENTRONYX CLOUD, it depends solely on whether the write-ahead log runs alongside the daily backup.

    The backup runs once a day and loads the standby node, not the primary node. Without a write-ahead log, the recovery point therefore goes back to last night — in the worst case, 24 hours are missing.

    Add journal

    With the continuously recorded write-ahead log, the recovery hits every second within the retention period, even right in the middle of a faulty mass run. This is offered for PostgreSQL, MySQL and MongoDB; the other services state the reason why not in the step.
